January 1 – New Year’s Day Community Run

January 10 – 6th Annual Chad Norsten Memorial Pool Tourney
Held at the Willmar VFW, this annual pool tournament brings together friendly competition and community support. Whether you’re shooting for the win or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a meaningful event honoring Chad Norsten while raising funds for a great cause.

January 16 – February 9 – Spicer Winterfest
Winter fun takes over Spicer with this action-packed festival! Expect outdoor activities, community gatherings, and classic winter entertainment that celebrates the season and brings everyone together. And don’t forget about the very popular ice castle that takes on a different design every year!

January 17 – Luminary Hike at Sibley State Park

January 18 – 8th Annual Kids Ice Fishing Derby

January 31 – Polar Plunge into Green Lake

Family-friendly fun is the focus at this WinterFest favorite. With activities for all ages, it’s a perfect way to spend time together, enjoy the season, and create lasting winter traditions.

Happening all January long are Willmar WarHawk Home Games, karaoke nights at area bars, trivia nights at local breweries, and live music at restaurants and bars throughout the area.
