Sibley State Park Fall Color Report for 10-8-20

Where to go
Red, yellows and oranges erupt from the tops of trees. Mt. Tom is the highest point in Kandiyohi County and offers a breath-taking views of the oak savannah forest.
Fall isn’t only in the trees though. Walk the Pond View Trail by the Interpretive Center to enjoy the Big Bluestem Grass jungle.

What you’ll see
Large bunches of purple asters are in bloom. Stop and smell the flowers but make sure to share them with the large female bumblebees that are enjoying this late summer meal.

More tips
Help scientists learn about Minnesota Bumble Bees! Look up the Guide to MN Bumble Bees by the U of M and then report who you see buzzing around on bumblebeewatch.org.
