Fishing Report for 7-11-24
Fishermen have been taking advantage of the non-rainy days lately and benefiting with an active bite. Early morning and evening hours remain the best times to fish. Anglers have been pulling good numbers of sunfish and crappie from Norway and Games lakes when using wax worms and power bait. As the temperatures rise this weekend, the crappie will likely hang around the 20 foot depth during the day and closer to the shallows at night. Bass and northern pike action remains strong, especially at the deeper weeds holding baitfish. Jigs and plastics have proven to be the most successful for these fish. The best walleye bite has been found in the early morning or late evening in the 15-20 foot range on Nest, Norway, Eagle, Diamond and Point lakes. Pulling shad raps and plugs in the 8-15 foot range in the early evenings on Green Lake has also earned anglers some walleye. Bass anglers will find great action on Florida, Point and Foot lakes. Shore fishing for panfish has been great on Florida, George, Diamond and Eagle lakes. Other lakes to try this week are Big Kandiyohi and Calhoun.
