Fishing Report for 10-27-22

Not as many anglers have been out on the lakes lately as many put away their boats for the season. Anglers that continue to venture out are taking nice numbers of walleye and crappie. A live bait rig or jig tipped with a large minnow remains best for the walleye, especially during afternoon hours when the waters are warmest. Crappie anglers are having the most success when using a jigging presentation. Northern pike remain active in the bays and along the shorelines. Trolled crank baits continue to work well. The most active lakes recently have been Long Lake, Minnetaga, Diamond, Green, Foot and Big Kandiyohi lakes. Warm temperatures and mostly sunny skies are forecasted for this weekend, making it a great time to hit the water before the snow flies!

Please remember that it is extremely important to wear a life jacket when out on the water due to the risk of hypothermia. Learn more.
