Fishing Report for 4-20-16
Fishing is heating up in the Willmar Lakes Area! Crappies are being caught on the northeast corner of Lake Andrew and Green Lake, in Dogfish Bay in Diamond Lake and in the shallows of Willmar Lake and Foot Lake. Many panfish are also being pulled from Lake Florida, Norway Lake, Lake Henderson, George Lake, Elkhorn Lake and Nest Lake. The water temperatures are sitting between 50-55 degrees in most area lakes. Roughly 60,000 pounds of carp and buffalo fish were pulled from Willmar and Foot Lakes recently which should help anglers find more crappie, Northern pike, sunfish and walleye (when the season opens up for them). It looks like the next few days might be great weather to get out fishing for the first time in the open waters this year. Don’t forget to purchase your 2016 fishing license before you head out!
