Fishing Report for 2-23-16
The rain on Friday created a sloppy mess on the lakes, but by Saturday ice fishing was back to normal in the Willmar Lakes Area. Most lakes are still at the 15-20 inch range for ice. Reports came in of crappies being pulled from a number of lakes as well as a few walleye and sunfish. The popular lakes were Eagle Lake, Diamond Lake, Green Lake, Norway Lake, Willmar Lake and Foot Lake. Just a reminder to stay clear of the aeration on lakes as the ice can be questionable near there. A few dates to keep in mind: walleye and northern pike season ends Feb. 28th in our area, new 2016 fishing licenses are required starting March 1st and permanent fish houses need to be off the lakes March 6th.
