Fishing Report for 1-12-16

Not many folks out fishing these last few days with the cold weather. There are always the few brave ones though and they aren’t going home empty handed. Walleye are being pulled from Green Lake, Big Kandiyohi Lake, Lake Elizabeth, Diamond Lake, Willmar Lake, Foot Lake and Long Lake. There are also some nice sized perch and crappies being pulled. We’ve made about 2-4 inches of ice on the lakes over the last few days so they are becoming safer each day. As always, continue to check the thickness of the ice often as it can change drastically in different parts of the lake. This coming weekend looks to be great for ice fishing in the Willmar Lakes Area with the warm up and thicker ice.
