Happy Hour Ideas in the Willmar Lakes Area

Our local restaurants, shops and attractions are open and have taken measures to ensure your safety.

Let’s Be Active

Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A gym session or brisk walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier, more relaxed and less anxious. So join one of the many fitness and wellness centers in the Willmar Lakes Area and start creating a healthier and happier YOU. Many of them are even offering online classes and workout routines as well.

The more than 250 workouts on The Body Coach TV, formulated by host Joe Wicks, are engaging and upbeat. (He’s relaxed enough to let his toddler daughter ham it up during one live session.) You can find a variety of 15- to 20-minute workouts, as well as a “7 Days of Sweat” challenge. Wicks also has a bunch of short, charming videos for kids that’ll get them moving.

A lot of people are enjoying Fitness Blender for its solid, no-frills, gimmick-free workouts. The channel has roughly 600 to choose from, including a lower-body set done with resistance bands and a no-equipment-required, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio workout.

Fun for the Whole Family

Looking for a fun, family activity? Reserve an interactive movie kit from the Willmar Public Library here. Each kit includes an interactive movie script, a bag of microwave popcorn, and props for up to 6 participants. *Limit 1 per week per household.

Spend an afternoon at Robbins Island Regional Park with the kids and take in the StoryWalk as you stroll around the perimeter of the Willmar Destination Playground. The story featured is “Up, Down, and Around” by Katherine Ayres. This is a great way to experience reading and nature at the same time!
