Discover the perfect lakeside getaway at Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East (formerly County Park #2), located on the east shore of beautiful Big Kandiyohi Lake. Just 18 miles south of Willmar and 6 miles north of Lake Lillian on County Road 8, this family-friendly campground is an ideal destination for camping, fishing, boating, swimming, and relaxing by the water.

The park features 80 electrical campsites, seasonal camping options, and two comfortable sleeper cabins, making it easy to plan a weekend escape or an extended summer vacation.

Spend your days enjoying the park’s large sandy swimming beach, casting a line from shore, or launching your boat to explore Big Kandiyohi Lake. Anglers can fish from the shoreline, the floating fishing pier, or the lake itself for walleye, northern pike, crappie, sunfish, and catfish. A new boat dock and additional floating dock provide plenty of space for boating, fishing, and taking in spectacular sunset views across the lake.

Stay in a Sleeper Cabin

Looking for a camping experience without bringing an RV or tent? Big Kandiyohi Lake County Park East offers two cozy sleeper cabins:

• Maple Cabin – ADA accessible and sleeps up to 5 guests.
• Oak Cabin – Sleeps up to 6 guests.

Both cabins include:

• Air conditioning and heat
• Microwave
• Small refrigerator
• Counter space for a coffee maker or crock pot (not provided)
• Private deck with beautiful sunset views

Please note that bedding is not provided, there is no running water inside the cabins, and guests have convenient access to nearby restroom and shower facilities. A $75 refundable security deposit is required for cabin rentals.
