2026 Promise 5K Bensky’s Race & Kids Fun Run

at Robbins Island Regional Park

Come on out to join the 8th annual Promise 5K run/walk event at Robbins Island in Willmar! The event includes a 5K run and walk, a kids’ fun run (Bensky’s Race), and of course, a favorite tradition, the Pie-K, a pie social that brings everyone together at the finish line to learn more about the mission of Children of the Promise in Haiti. Thanks to an incredible line-up of local sponsors, all participant fees are donated directly to the work in Haiti that protects children and strengthens families.

Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series
The 2026 Promise 5K race in Willmar, MN is part of the Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series! This includes official timing and published online results.

“The Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series includes road races from towns throughout the West Central Minnesota area. The vision statement of this running series is: Inspiring and motivating everyone to be active by promoting health & wellness through a series of race events that are fun, safe & well organized.”

Bensky’s Race: Kids Fun Run (WILLMAR, MN)
The Kids Fun Run will be held prior to the Promise 5K at Robbins Island Regional Park. This Kids Fun Run is named in honor of a boy named Bensky. Bensky spent much of his life at Children of the Promise and he impacted the lives of many around him. Although he was unable to walk, he lived a life full of movement, joy, and impact.

After Bensky’s passing in 2021, we wanted to create a meaningful way to celebrate the legacy he left behind. This fun run is a reminder that every life has value, purpose, and the ability to make a difference. We can’t wait to see kids running, laughing, and celebrating in honor of a boy who inspired so many.

Open to ages 10 and under.

Promise 5K Run/Walk (WILLMAR, MN)
Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or pushing a stroller with coffee in hand, we’d love for you to be part of this special day as we raise funds and awareness for vulnerable children and families in Haiti.
This is an officially timed race and is a part of the Glacial Lakes Running Series.

Bensky’s Race/Promise 5K (VIRTUAL)
If you are located outside of the Willmar, MN area, the Virtual Promise 5K is a great option for you! This run/walk can be completed in your own neighborhood, at a local park, or even the treadmill. Share the news with your friends, register for the race, and complete a 5K on your own time!
