Celebrate the fall season by participating in the Kandiyohi County Historical Society’s Scarecrow Decorating Competition!
Gather your family, friends, coworkers, club, or organization and create a unique scarecrow to display on our grounds throughout October.

📅 Registration Deadline: September 25, 2026
🌾 Scarecrow Setup: September 28 – October 2 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
🗳️ Community Voting: October 5 – October 31
🏆 Winners Announced: November 2

The Historical Society will provide a pole for your entry. You bring the imagination! Participants are responsible for designing, constructing, setting up, maintaining, and removing their scarecrow.

• All entries must be family-friendly and appropriate for visitors of all ages.
• No religious or political messages may be displayed.
• No blood, gore, or frightening graphic content is permitted.
• Scarecrows should be securely constructed to withstand outdoor weather conditions.
• Participants are responsible for removing their scarecrow after the competition.
