Dakota 38 Screening
Friday, January 2nd at 2 pm
in the Multipurpose Room
at the Willmar Public Library

In commemoration of the 38 Native Americans hanged on December 26th, 1862, we will be screening the movie Dakota 38.
This film is about Jim Miller, a Native American who had a dream about riding horseback in the plains of South Dakota.
He eventually organized a ride to honor the 38 Native Americans killed in the largest mass execution in U.S. History after The Dakota War.
The movie covers the horse riders’ journey, those who helped them, and the history that inspired the ride in the first place. It is free to view.
