Glacial Lakes State Trail Report for 5-18-17

Construction on the Glacial Lakes State Trail between Spicer and Willmar will begin with clearing and grub the week of May 22nd. Milling of the asphalt will commence in June for the full 6 miles leaving it earth exposed for grading, shoulder work and culvert replacement. Paving of the trail will begin in mid-July with completion scheduled for the end of August. The horse trail shouldn’t be impacted except where it crosses the main line. You can still use the main trail after it is milled; however, there won’t be a nice surface. Construction starts in Willmar and will work its way toward Spicer, so small portions of the trail will have limited use. You may not be able to travel all the way from Willmar to Spicer during the construction process. Please obey the closure signs and avoid construction equipment. For current updates on the trail please go to Glacial Lakes State Trail: Minnesota DNR.
