Monson State Park Fall Color Report for 9-17-20

Where to go
Ssshhhh…..the only sound at Monson Lake is the rustle of leaves and occasional squawking geese to announce the arrival of fall. This little park has one trail loop that starts at the parking lot. It’ll travel through flood plain forests and along the lake shore.

What you’ll see
A mostly oak forest is starting to change just the slightest touch of yellows. You can feel the change!

More tips
The floodplain forest floor is scattered with the eye catching bright red seeds of Jack in the Pulpit.
