Fraud Watch – Cancelled
Friday, April 10 from 9am-12pm
at the Willmar Conference Center

Con-artists don’t care how hard you’ve worked, they steal billions from Americans like you every year. Let’s fight back!

Financial crimes including scams, identity theft and consumer fraud are the most frequently attempted crimes every day in the United States. Technology has made it easier for criminals to access personal information and financial accounts from anywhere in the world. These criminals know how to “cover their tracks” and most investigations lead to dead ends, meaning prevention is the best way to fight these crimes.

Jay Haapala, Associate State Director with AARP Minnesota has met with hundreds of community groups, law enforcement and fraud investigators across the state to understand how scammers are targeting their victims. His presentation will cover a variety of topics: scams, identity theft, credit card fraud, cyber security and online safety, consumer protections and more.

Local law enforcement and social services agencies are invited to share in the presentation as well.

Doors open and a breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, rolls, fruit, juice and coffee will be served at 8:30. The presentation runs 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Must register to attend by calling 1-877-926-8300 or registering online at https://aarp.cvent.com/WillmarFraud
