Casual non-competitive three day bike-packing trip through Kandiyohi & Renville county. This trip will begin and end in Willmar, MN. The first day of the trip heads south into Renville County to stay at Mack Lake County Park along the Minnesota River. The second day heads northwest following the river with a stop in Beaver Falls County Park before ending the night at Skalbekkan County Park along the Minnesota river. The third and final day will be a trek back up to Willmar taking mostly gravel roads.
The purpose of this event is to showcase the historical features & scenic views of Kandiyohi & Renville County. There are numerous county parks along the route that riders and volunteers can stop at. There are also multiple historical points of interests along the way as well. All of these features will be accessible during the ride.
Breakfast and dinner will be served for the overnight stays in both parks. There will also be an acoustic performance from a local artist at Skalbekkan that Saturday night. This is an unsupported bike-packing event through Kandiyohi & Renville county. There will be some guidance and checkpoints with water, and there will be proper precautions taken in case of an emergency.
All riders who complete the event will receive a patch with the event logo at the end of the event on Sunday, September 12th.
Total distance of the ride is 160 miles. The first day is 64.61 miles. The second day 44.14 miles. The final day is 50.92 miles
Overnight weekend parking for participants will be at the MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar.
Catering will provide necessary food options for participants with dietary restrictions.
A finalized route will be provided to registrants as we get closer to the event.
