The event is open to the public.
We ask that you follow current Minnesota health and safety guidelines, which includes keeping at least 6 feet distance between family groups, wearing a mask and not attending if you are ill or were recently exposed to someone who is ill. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available.
About the event: Welcoming Week is an annual celebration bringing together people in local communities to build unity and a sense of belonging for new and long-time residents. It was established by Welcoming America, which launched in 2009 to lead a movement of inclusive communities becoming more prosperous by making everyone feel like they belong. To see a full list of events around the world, visit welcomingweek.org.
Southwest Initiative Foundation and Pioneer PBS are sponsoring Welcoming Week activities across the region. Building vibrant and welcoming rural communities is at the heart of our work. Most recently we collaborated on a Southwest Minnesota Story Share project with the goal of connecting people and finding new voices that tell stories about the sense of belonging in Minnesota. Hear stories collected in Worthington or share your own story at www.pioneer.org/southwestminnesotastoryshare.
