Bicycle Benefits Come to Willmar

The Willmar Bikes Group and the Willmar Lakes Area Convention & Visitors Bureau have started the Bicycle Benefits program in Willmar. Participating businesses offer deals to bicyclists who ride their bike to their business and have the bicycle benefits sticker on their helmet. Stickers cost $5 and are available for purchase at participating businesses. The first seventy-five participants in the Willmar Bikes April Rides will get a free sticker. Willmar Bikes April Rides

The Willmar Bikes April Rides are planned to celebrate 30 Days of Biking. The rides are family and beginner friendly and open to all.

The first ride is scheduled for this Saturday, April 1st. It is a Pedal for Pizza Ride. It starts at 11:30 am at the Willmar Middle School (near the tennis courts) and goes to Giovanni’s Pizza. At Giovanni’s Pizza, riders can purchase a slice of pizza and pop for $2.

The following four Saturdays, Willmar Bikes has Java Rides planned. These rides will start at 9:30 am from the Jefferson Learning Center and they will go to area coffee shops. Riders will have the opportunity to purchase beverages and bakery treats for a discount at each coffee shop. The dates and coffee shop destinations are below:

Destinations for the Java Bike Rides are as follows – all rides start/end at Jefferson Learning Center:
April 8 – Cornerstone Coffee
April 15 – Dunn Brothers
April 22 – Goodness Coffee
April 29 – LuLu Beans
