Greetings to the bravest of the brave! We have had over 200 runners join us over the years, but the past two years have proven to be a challenge. Wind Chills of 30 below have been our delight and still over 100 runners embrace the opportunity. Following the race we always enjoy Dad's Famous Waffles at Zorbaz on Green Lake and enjoy the other activities of Spicer's Winter Fest.

Our date in 2013 is January 19th, on-line registration will be open December 15th. We hope you can join us then.

Visit Local Studios and Meet the Artists!  An eclectic mix of artwork — paintings, sculpture, pottery, mixed media & photography – and the interesting collection of characters who create it are featured during the Lakes Area Studio Hop. Our local artists will open their studios and creative spaces to the public

The Foot Lake 4 Walk / Run is one of the premier events that takes place each year during Willmar Fests. It is designed to provide fun and safety for all age groups and levels of participation. The Foot Lake 4 is an event for the whole family.

Register early to guarantee a race T-shirt, plenty of water and fruit, a soothing massage, and a ticket to the Firemen's All-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast.

Prinsburg 4th of July Celebration

Parade at 6pm, potluck supper, games, and other entertainment.

This event features a parade, various entertainment, kids fishing derby, water ski show and a street dance. There will also be a Hog Roast fundraiser hosted by the New London Fire Department.

Green Lake Bible Camp Quilt Auction, Spicer

Community celebration with many activities beginning with a parade on Saturday at 4pm followed by a raffle, street dance, community supper, and games.

Willmar is home to the annual Kandiyohi County Fair. Held in August each year, the fair features agricultural, domestic and industrial exhibits from throughout the County. The fair offers something for everyone--from baking and flowers to livestock and antique tractors. The kids will love the rides! Come enjoy the contests, food, singing, food, dancing, food, races and other grandstand entertainment and, of course, the food! The fairgrounds are also home to the KRA Speedway, with performances Thursday evenings throughout the summer.

New London is the place for artists and art patrons to be August 16th and 17th, 2013.

“The City On The Pond” will host this festival on the same weekend as the widely celebrated New London Water Ski Show and the New London Music Festival. While being held simultaneously, the events are geographically separated to assure the best experience for all who attend.

On the third Sunday in August, there is a celebration for the anniversary of the completion of the replica of the Old Log Church!

The 10th Annual Run Around Raymond 5k Walk/Run and Mile Run started out the day's events at the Raymond Harvest Festival on Saturday, August 24. The 5k started at 8:00 am while the Mile Run began at 9:00 am. The start/finish line is in front of the MACCRAY East School. Medals were awarded to the top three finishers in each age group.

Celebrating the connection between Fitness, Nature and the Human Spirit.

Pat Boros was one of the original and most reliable volunteers to work with MentorWorks programs in Kandiyohi County. He held great faith in the resilience of our most “at-risk” youth, and practiced that faith personally and professionally. Pat had a humble and quiet, but powerful impact on many lives.

Only a few day left until Prairie Pothole Day 2012. There will be lots of familiar faces and activities along with some new and fun things. Dock Dogs will be down by the barn. World Champion Goose caller Scott Threinen and the University of Minnesota Raptor Center will be presenting seminars. Chad Hughes from Wings North will be cooking up pheasant and duck. Don't forget to bring your gun and shoot a round of Trap or Sporting Clays to get ready for the upcoming hunting season. Remember all the activities for the kids and our four legged hunting buddies.

The Celebrate Art! Celebrate Coffee! festival is presented each fall by the Willmar Area Arts Council. This year's festival is September 21 and is located in downtown Willmar. The tradition continues with artist demonstrations, children's tent activities, a juried art exhibition and art sale, food court, free coffee, and continuous entertainment from the outdoor stage.
