Besides a breathtaking ice structure and slide, which is visible day and night, the weekends from mid January to mid February are action packed with snowmobile runs, ice fishing tournaments, fireworks and craft sale. Also, don't miss the 9th annual Polar Plunge. A very popular and frosty fundraiser for Special Olympics! There will be a Frozen 5K run, WinterFest Kids Carnival, Horse and Buggy Rides and Fireworks on the kick-off weekend!

Greetings to the bravest of the brave! We have had over 200 runners join us over the years, but the past two years have proven to be a challenge. Wind Chills of 30 below have been our delight and still over 100 runners embrace the opportunity. Following the race we always enjoy Dad's Famous Waffles at Zorbaz on Green Lake and enjoy the other activities of Spicer's Winter Fest.

Our date in 2013 is January 19th, on-line registration will be open December 15th. We hope you can join us then.

The Polar Bear Plunge — presented by Minnesota law enforcement as part of the year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run® events to benefit Special Olympics — is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics athletes by jumping into frigid Minnesota waters. Spicer's fourth of July celebration is "One of the Best in the Area." There are activities for all ages, all day long. Besides an arts and crafts fair with an amusing flea market, everyone will be enjoying volleyball, basketball and softball tournaments, kiddie pedal tractor pull, a competitive 12-mile running race and, of course, all the water fun you could ask for! The street dance along Green Lake is open to all ages. On the fourth, the kiddie parade starts early followed by a Grand Day parade, including over 100 participants with lots of entertainment and candy!

How it all began....... The New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run began in 1987 during New Brighton’s Centennial Celebration. The City added the Run to its calendar of events that year as a way of strengthening its namesake ties to Brighton, England. Complete with a visit by the Mayor of Brighton and other English guests, the 1st Annual Antique Car Run was held with 17 participants. The Antique Car Run is an American version of the prestigious London to Brighton Commemorative Run held annually in England.

Willmar is home to the annual Kandiyohi County Fair. Held in August each year, the fair features agricultural, domestic and industrial exhibits from throughout the County. New London is the place for artists and art patrons to be August 16th and 17th, 2013.

“The City On The Pond” will host this festival on the same weekend as the widely celebrated New London Water Ski Show and the New London Music Festival. While being held simultaneously, the events are geographically separated to assure the best experience for all who attend.

The 10th Annual Run Around Raymond 5k Walk/Run and Mile Run started out the day's events at the Raymond Harvest Festival on Saturday, August 24. The 5k started at 8:00 am while the Mile Run began at 9:00 am. The start/finish line is in front of the MACCRAY East School. Medals were awarded to the top three finishers in each age group.

Ride for the Trails is a bike ride throughout the community of Willmar to raise funding to complete our trail system as well as to connect our loop to the Glacial Lakes Trail. The registration table, and the ride will start in Robbins Island Park at open shelter #1. The ride will incorporate the future sites of the Willmar trail system that are yet to be completed. This is a recreational ride with all participants receiving a t-shirt, as well as a ticket to the Dads Belgium Waffle feed and Silent Auction.
