The Jung Trio is comprised of sisters Jennie, Ellen and Julia Jung, and has appeared in concerts all across North America as well as internationally in Asia, Europe and Africa. Initial successes include top prizes in their native country at the Canadian Music Competition and CIBC National Music Festival. They have received their degrees from the University of Toronto, New England Conservatory, and all three graduated from Yale University School of Music. The Jung Trio is currently Trio-in-Residence at Vanguard University of Southern California.

The New York Theatre Ballet returns with the holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker.” Founded in 1978 by artistic director Diana Byer, the New York Theatre Ballet has a mission to inspire a love of dance and to make its performances accessible to all audiences. They will be bringing the ballet in a 70 minute production of this classic tale. Music by Peter Tchaikovsky, choreography by Keith Michael and costume design by Sylvia Taalsohn Nolan.

Greetings to the bravest of the brave! We have had over 200 runners join us over the years, but the past two years have proven to be a challenge. Wind Chills of 30 below have been our delight and still over 100 runners embrace the opportunity. Following the race we always enjoy Dad's Famous Waffles at Zorbaz on Green Lake and enjoy the other activities of Spicer's Winter Fest.

Our date in 2015 is January 24th. On-line registration will be open in December. We hope you can join us!

Runners will head west on 26th Ave., turn right on CR 41, right on 36th Ave. NE, right on 8th St NE, loop on Eagle Ridge Drive, turn left on 37th Ave heading west, left on CR 41 and left on to 26th Ave NE to the finish at The Oaks.

Met Opera award winner and PBS favorite, who sings a program of well known operatic arias, spirituals and Broadway. Up-and-coming American operatic tenor Ben Gulley’s career is growing daily with lead and feature roles in opera, solo engagements, concert work, film work and nationwide touring as well as prestigious appearances abroad. Ben is also a member of the SONY/BMG recording group The American Tenors. Not only a fabulous singer but also a personable young man.

Spicer's fourth of July celebration is "One of the Best in the Area." There are activities for all ages, all day long. Besides an arts and crafts fair with an amusing flea market, everyone will be enjoying volleyball, basketball and softball tournaments, kiddie pedal tractor pull, a competitive 12-mile running race and, of course, all the water fun you could ask for! The street dance along Green Lake is open to all ages. The 38th Annual Green Lake Road Race is one of the most popular summer races in the Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series. A big race with a small-town feel, the 12 Mile USATF certified race is the premier event of the annual 4th of July celebration organized by the City of Spicer Commercial Club. Parades, Fireworks, Street Dances, Open Air Markets, together with the race, all combine to make the 4th of July in Spicer an incredible experience for young and old alike.

How it all began....... The New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run began in 1987 during New Brighton’s Centennial Celebration. The City added the Run to its calendar of events that year as a way of strengthening its namesake ties to Brighton, England. Complete with a visit by the Mayor of Brighton and other English guests, the 1st Annual Antique Car Run was held with 17 participants. The Antique Car Run is an American version of the prestigious London to Brighton Commemorative Run held annually in England.

Willmar is home to the annual Kandiyohi County Fair. Held in August each year, the fair features agricultural, domestic and industrial exhibits from throughout the County. The fair offers something for everyone--from baking and flowers to livestock and antique tractors. The kids will love the rides! Come enjoy the contests, food, singing, food, dancing, food, races and other grandstand entertainment and, of course, the food! Green Lake Triathlon, Spicer - The race starts off with a nice swim in sandy Green Lake. The bike ride takes a path of gently rolling hills around the Green Lake area, with a 3 mile run to the finish. The course is well marked with distances clearly posted.
 

 

There is also a Green Lake Kid's Triathlon on August 8th, 2015. Check the website for more information.

The 15th Annual Run Around Raymond 5K Walk/Run and Mile Run starts out the day's events at the Raymond Harvest Festival on Saturday, August 23. The 5K starts at 8:00am while the Mile Run began at 9:00am. The start/finish line is in front of the MACCRAY East School. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group.

Raymond hosts the annual Harvest Festival each fall to celebrate the city's agricultural foundation and to offer a family-friendly event.

Some of the many events at the Harvest Festival range from a full parade with neighborhood floats and an antique car and tractor display; to an early-morning 5K race to an early-evening queen contest for local young women. Local gardeners can submit their prized flowers and vegetables at the judged garden show, kids games in the park, and a small flea market sets up downtown.

In October of 2010 the 1st Annual CCS 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run was held. The event was blessed with a beautiful day and there were well over 100 participants. We recently held our 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run, and we have added a Dad's Belgian Waffle Feed to the day.
