About West Central Concert Series

The concerts are held at the Willmar Education and Arts Center (concert hall / performance theater / art gallery) in Willmar, Minnesota. Memberships are sold every spring. The purchase of a membership to the West Central Concert Series entitles you to one ticket for each of the season's performances. We invite you to join us as a regular member or as a sustaining member.

2010-2011 Season Artists:

Jeri Sager

Jeri Sager is a veteran of Broadway and numerous national tours. She starred as Grizabella in CATS, and appeared as Fantine in Les Miserables. Her Broadway debut was as Frumah-Sara in the 25th Anniversary production of Fiddler on the Roof, starring Topol. Her other credits include Evita, Pippin, City of Angels, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Pump Boys and Dinettes.

Jeri currently performs concerts all over the United States, and any exotic locale you'd like to send her.

The Four Freshman 

Now in their 62nd year of performance, The Four Freshmen continue to bring their unique brand of vocal harmony to audiences worldwide.  The names and faces have changed a few times along the road, but the legendary sound continues...

Intersection

Soulful expression, instrumental virtuosity, playful banter - these are the hallmarks of an Intersection event, in which the realms of concert and popular music are seamlessly dovetailed.

The typical Intersection program is an irresistible blend of classical, jazz, Latin, Broadway/film music, vital new commissions and the group's own original compositions and arrangements.

Ranging from a Piazzolla tango to a Jobim bossa nova, from a West Side Story melody to a gossamer Mendelssohn scherzo, an evening spent with INTERSECTION is an unforgettable one for any audience.

Ilya Yakushev

Russian pianist Ilya Yakushev, with many awards and honors to his credit, continues to astound and mesmerize audiences at major venues on three continents.

Mr. Yakushev received his first award at age 12 as a prizewinner of the Young Artists Concerto Competition in his native St. Petersburg. Mr. Yakushev attended the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia, and subsequently came to New York City to attend Mannes College of Music where he studied with legendary pianist Vladimir Feltsman. 

Burning River Brass

Since 1996, Burning River Brass has been dazzling audiences from Alaska to Taiwan with "power and virtuosity," "harmonious blend," and "consistently stirring performances." Composed of twelve of the finest brass and percussion players in the country, Burning River Brass is an ensemble on fire!

BRB’s repertoire includes fresh arrangements of classic literature as well as original works written specifically for the group.
