Fishing Report for 9-5-17

As fall begins, anglers are starting to adjust their presentations due to cooler air temperatures and fewer daylight hours. Lake temperatures are hovering in the low 70s in the Willmar Lakes Area. The walleye action has been good for anglers trolling crank baits and should improve as the temperatures cool down even more. The lakes to hit this week if fishing for walleye would be Eagle, Diamond, Green, Long and Big Kandiyohi Lake. Panfish have been found near vegetation and in the 8-15 foot range with a small jig and a soft plastic being the best presentation. Spinner baits have also worked well for bass fishing. The best lakes to find panfish this week are Eagle, Diamond, Florida, Andrew, Games, George, Henderson and Elkhorn Lake.
