Fishing Report for 8-2-16

Walleye are becoming less concentrated as we get closer to fall. Your best bet is to cover some water by trolling with shad raps and plugs. Pulling plugs with lead core line on the base of the lake has proven successful for many anglers, especially on Diamond Lake. Other good trolling lakes would be Eagle Lake, Willmar Lake, Foot Lake and Green Lake. Sunfish, bass and northern pike can be found in the 10-15 foot range, usually hiding in the weeds. Most success has been found using a bottom bouncer or a spinner and crawler. Leeches are done for the season in our area. If you’re looking for some good pan fishing action, try Diamond Lake, Eagle Lake, Lake Florida, Lake Andrew and Nest Lake.
