Fishing Report for 6-25-19

The summertime fishing frenzy has begun in the Willmar Lakes Area. Fish are biting everywhere! Eagle Lake is the number one lake to try this week as anglers have been pulling walleye, largemouth bass, northern pike, sunfish and perch. As even the bigger lakes are starting to warm up now, start searching for the fish a bit deeper. Look for sunfish anywhere from shore to 17 foot depth and the walleye are usually between 15-25 foot depth. Everything is biting on Foot Lake off the fishing pier right now near the bottom of the lake. On Big Kandiyohi Lake, you’ll find lots of walleye and perch in about 8-10 foot depth. Many northerns are being pulled from Long Lake in the 8-17 foot depth. Ringo is still putting out nice walleye near the culvert. You’ll also find hungry crappie on Diamond, Norway, and Andrew lakes. The best bait is still leeches and nightcrawlers right now.
