Fishing Report for 2-7-17

Most area lakes have 14-18 inches of ice right now and some of the accesses are in tough shape. The walleye bite has hit Long Lake with as big as 30 inch walleyes being pulled late at night. Willmar Lake and Foot Lake have had active crappie, walleye and sunfish in the 20-30 foot depths. Nest Lake has had the best crappie bite lately while also giving up a few sunfish and Northern Pike. Green Lake remains popular for sunfish, crappie and Northern Pike in the northeastern and northwestern corners. Just be aware that a truck has went through the ice on Green Lake in the northwest corner.
