Fishing Report for 12-6-16

Winter temperatures have arrived and ice is beginning to form rapidly, especially on the smaller, shallower lakes. Most anglers are anxiously awaiting the upcoming ice fishing season. Anyone planning to venture out should first consult with area resorts and bait shops for the most current ice conditions. Please remember that ice is never entirely safe. Ice thickness should be checked often, and a life jacket is extremely important early in the ice fishing season. To brush up on your knowledge of ice safety, consult the Minnesota DNR’s Ice Safety Guidelines.
