Fishing Report for 12-12-17
Some of the lakes are finally thick enough to walk on in spots; however many public accesses are still open as the strong winds broke up the ice around them. Spots of each lake that were protected by the winds have good ice on them and can support a portable fish house. Many anglers have had luck pulling fish from the western basin of Norway Lake as well as the south side of Ringo Lake. Walleye and crappie have been pulled from Willmar and Foot Lake as well as Minnetaga Lake. Wagonga, Big Kandiyohi and Lake Lillian have all put out some walleye and perch in the last week. Be careful as you go out on the lakes and the ice thickness may be unpredictable at times. Always keep in mind the DNR’s Ice Safety Guidelines and General Ice Thickness Guidelines.
