A silent auction, duck raffle, and photo booth will all be part of the evening’s activities.

Spread the word to friends, family, and book groups about this exciting event. For more information, check the Wisdom & Wine event on the Willmar Friends of the Library Facebook page or on Instagram. WPL Librarians are also more than willing to share information with you.

This is a wonderful opportunity for supporters of the public library to enjoy an evening of good conversation, interesting author talks, and great desserts!

West Central Area book lovers will have the opportunity to hear William Kent Krueger, Allen Eskens, and Kao Kalia Yang at the June 13th Wisdom & Wine event in Willmar.

Kao Kalia Yang, a Hmong-American writer, is the author of The Latehomecomer: a Hmong Family Memoir and The Song Poet. The Latehomecomer won the 2009 Minnesota Book Award in Creative Nonfiction/Memoir and The Song Poet also won a Minnesota Book Award and was a finalist for the National Critics Circle Award.

Allen Eskens is the bestselling author of The Life We Bury and several other novels. He has been a recipient of the Minnesota Book Award and has been a finalist for the Edgar Ward, given by the Mystery Writers of America. His books have been translated into 21 languages and his novel, The Life We Bury, is in development for a feature film.

William Kent Krueger is the author of the popular Cork O’Connor mystery series set in the north woods of Minnesota. Krueger has received numerous awards including the Minnesota Book Award. His last eight novels were all New York Times bestsellers.

Attendees of Wisdom & Wine will hear the writers present their perspective on the craft of writing and will have an opportunity to ask questions and get books signed by each of the authors. It will be an evening all will enjoy.
