Dark House Spearing 101
Sibley State Park
Jan. 12, 2019
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Dark House spearing is a form of ice fishing where you sit in a windowless ice house over a carved rectangle in the ice with a lure then use a spear to catch the fish. This thrilling sport offers a new perspective and window into our lakes in the winter.

Sign up early to partake in this guided program. Find out about the tools of the trade inside before heading outside to try the sport with a personal coach.

Dress for the weather. Program will take place unless there is a severe weather warning. Meet in the Interpretive Center. Winter boots mandatory (please contact naturalist if need access to winter boots) and ice cleats highly recommended.
