The Kandiyohi County Historical Society is going to offer three workshops on genealogy. These sessions will be for the beginner genealogist. These sessions require no advance knowledge of family history research. You can sign up for one, two or three sessions! The sessions will be given by staff at the Kandiyohi County Historical Society.

Session 1: Where do I begin? Starting your family history research. This session will get your started on your family history journey. It will guide you on how to begin your research and how to organize it. We will recount the hits and misses we have learned over the years helping researchers.

Session 2: What is in the KCHS Archives and how can do they help? This session will introduce you to the archives at the Kandiyohi County Historical Society. A behind the scenes tour will be given. There will be an introduction of how a researcher used the library and what resources are available.

Session 3: Basic Online Resources This session will introduce you to the basic online resources used for family research. It will explain how each site is beneficial to genealogy and how it can help you in your research.

Cost: $15/KCHS Members or $20/non-members per session
$35/KCHS members or $50/non-members for all three sessions
