We enjoy sharing our love for the holiday season with our friends, neighbors and others through the magic of holiday lights.
For the last 4 years, Chad Koosman has been doing a Christmas light display at his house. It started out as something that he really enjoyed doing. Over the past few years, his display has evolved to the point that he feels that it should be shared with everyone, and used to inspire and inform others about the Joy of Giving.
Christmas is a time to get together with family and friends and look back on the past year. A time to think of how blessed each one of us are. Most importantly, it is a time to remember the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Have you ever wondered what Christmas would be like if you had to worry what to feed your family, wondering if that last five dollars should buy your child a present or if you should put it towards your past due utility bills? Friends, there are hard working families in our community that face that very situation on a daily basis, and they need our help. The Willmar Salvation Army helps these families get back on their feet so that they can become independent again.
Celebrate the Light of the World is a Christmas light display shown every evening during the holiday season. Salvation Army kettles are set out for donations as well. Special evenings are done as well, with movies, sleigh rides and a chance to meet Santa, too!
