One of my favorite things to do is spend the day browsing at our local specialty and occasional shops.

Recently, I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon in New London. This charming community is home to a wide variety of shops and tons of charm and character.

First stop was to Ali J Boutique. It is my daughter’s favorite store and we are always sure to find a great new outfit. They have a women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, gifts, and their personal stylists are always eager to help you find just the right look!

Next stop, Distressed Treasures. Distressed Treasures is a home decor store with re-purposed/refurbished furniture and home decor. The store has a mix of Shabby Chic, French Country, Rustic, Retro and Vintage. It is such a fun store and gave me all kinds of wonderful ideas to re-purpose items in my own home.

No trip to New London is complete, without a visit to the Millpond Mercantile. You will find a large variety of gifts and home decor at the Millpond Mercantile. I love this place. I always find great gift items and so many things that I need. OK, maybe not need but definitely want! You could spend hours looking at all the things in this 4,000 square foot shop.
